The inter conflict:
Let me tell you all a mini origin story about the struggle to even make this blog/site. To start out I spent about 3 months debating on if I should do this, and even going so far as to make it once and whilst nuking it within one hour. I truly wish I was exaggerating when making this statement.
You may say "Dude its a dang site, chill" and you would be correct, however in this field I/we pursue a public persona vs. an alternate persona online need/should to be separated in my opinion. Along with this aspect I am very privacy oriented, I am not to fond of having my life on a silver platter.
The key aspect in which assisted in the relief of my mental fatigue was treating this more as an extension of public presence. A good ideological perspective was to treat this as extension of LinkedIn per say.
This simple idea had solidified the question of what did I want out of this? Do I want this be about my "super l33t haxkor man" side hiding it from the masses or about me as the person and my trials I have endured and will come to endure?
A simple idea:
Now that we have established what is the idea behind this lets talk about the flip side, The non public image. Again you as the reader may ask "Why should I care?". Well everyone has a right to privacy and with this privacy we should be able to endure the jungles of the internet in a safe manner (within reason).
Look this is not going to be the talk about running 40 proxies to be a mega ghost. Its simply a means to bring awareness to separation in aspects of you life. For example those who use Snapchat would you prefer every story of whatever it is called now a day to be feed right into your LinkedIn? No how about attached to your resume?
Having a alternate persona or handle does not have to be some l33t haxkor thing. Why should we not take a page from the ghosts of the internet and be a little more private without going off the grid?
This one is on the short side however this was more of an off the cuff first post. If you made it this far thank you for reading!
